Classes are separated by age and skill level. Level placement is at the sole discretion of the director and the assistant director. For questions about class placement for your dancer, give us a call at 843-873-2505.

Absolutely! Many of our dancers begin with no prior experience. Our classes are designed for beginners, as well as, experienced dancers, and our instructors meet each child where they are while helping them grow with confidence.

Classes are grouped by age and experience level. Our front desk team and directors are happy to recommend the best fit based on your dancer's age, goals, and previous experience, ensuring they feel challenged and excited to learn.

Your dancer will be welcomed by friendly teachers and classmates as they begin learning new skills at their own pace. During the first few weeks, they'll become familiar with classroom routines, build confidence, and most importantly, have fun! Every child learns differently, and our teachers are committed to encouraging progress every step of the way.

To help dancers build confidence and independence, parents typically do not observe weekly classes. We host special observation opportunities at the end of the season so you can celebrate your dancer's progress. Each studio does have a small window where parents can peak in throughout class.

To make a payment, check your account balance, or set up autopay, you will need to log into your parent portal, here. From here, you can make payments, set up autopay, or check your account balance.

You can find the dress code and required shoes for each class here. Dancers should come to class each week in the required dress code. Dancers should not wear baggy, oversized, or loose fitting clothing, jeans, or dresses.

You can purchase dancewear online, at https://www.capezio.com/. For specific examples with links, visit our dress code page. If you would like to purchase them locally, you can visit, Turning Pointe, in West Ashley, SC or, Allegro Dance Shop, in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Tuition is broken down into 11 equal payments over the course of the season. Planet Dance does not prorate tuition at any time during the year. Holidays and closures are accounted for when tuition is calculated. Tuition is calculated by class hours per dancer, not per family. Tuition is posted on the 1st of each month and due by the 5th of each month. A late fee of $30 is added to all tuition payments collected after the 5th of each month. Dancers with accounts not paid in full by the 10th of each month will be unable to return to class, until the balance is paid in full. There is also a $50 returned check fee for all returned checks. There are no refunds for missed classes or dropping without notice. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.

You can find all tuition and fee information in the Studio Handbook.

All fees are listed in our Studio Handbook. There is an annual $50 registration fee per dancer. There is also a $100-125 costume fee per class. Be sure to see the Studio Handbook for more details.

If the studio needs to close due to weather, we will inform all families via email and a post to social media by 2pm for all afternoon and evening classes.

All pre-planned closures (including holidays) are notated in the Studio Handbook.

Our 23rd Annual Recital will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2027, at Summers Corner Performing Arts Center. There will be a mandatory Dress Rehearsal on Friday, June 11, 2027, at Summers Corner Performing Arts Center to allow dancers the opportunity to perform all their routines on stage before performing them live in front of an audience. Dress Rehearsal and Recital are mandatory for all dancers. All classes are included in the year-end recital, except for our Acro and Pointe classes.

Costume fees are due by January 28, 2027. Recital costume fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. If a student withdraws after this date, they are still responsible for all costume fees associated with their account, regardless of participation.

Yes! If your dancer is looking to take their training to the next level, while having more opportunities to perform, then the Competition Team is the perfect fit for your student. Dancers must be at least 5 years old, with at least one year of dance training, to audition. For more information, click here.

Your dancer may withdraw anytime during the year, by the 25th of the month. If a dancer chooses to withdraw after the 25th of the month, they will still be responsible for the following month's tuition. If a student withdraws after January 28, 2027, they are still responsible for all costume fees associated with their account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We only accept withdrawal notices via our online portal or email. Phone calls and verbal withdrawals will not be honored. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for any unused tuition or classes.
